UK Election Night Get-together

It’s time again for the British people to “throw the rascals out”. The 2010 UK General Election on May 6th already promises to be a tight match with a high potential for unprecedented surprises.

Those of you who wish to follow the final race as it happens are invited to join us for an

ELECTION NIGHT GET-TOGETHER

Time: Thursday, May 6th, 2010 | starting from 8:00 pm (you are welcome to join us later in the evening; first poll results are expected at around 11 pm)

Location: Jim Beam’s Bar, Alaunstr. 57, 01099 Dresden

There will be live coverage of the events on BBC World News from 10:00 pm, which we will be able to watch on a big screen.

As some of us are academically familiar with the British political system, you are welcome to bombard us with questions about UK politics, the electoral system or David Cameron’s favourite photoshop secrets. Or perhaps you would like to discuss Gordon Brown’s new book (now in printing), “How Not To Win An Election”? I am particularly looking forward to the results of our own “mock election” this evening among those present!
